I have great memories of being a
Jasper Jazz during the 1998-1999 school year. It was by far my
best year, and being a member on the Plano West Drill team could
not even compare to my experience on Jazz. It was hard work, but
it was well worth the rush and excitement of performing at the
football games.
I cannot even describe the bond our
team formed throughout the year, especially after attending
competition in San Antonio. As Captain of the team I gained many
close friendships with fellow teammates and officers, whom I still
keep in touch with today.
The years of dance lessons at Miss
Billye's and the incredible years as a Jazz and Royale helped
prepare me for my position on the Iowa State Pom
Squad. It is
great to be able to continue to dance, and it is truly amazing to
dance in front of a crowd of 48,000. Without such a passion for
dance, I would not be where I am today.
