Plano Light the Night Walk
Benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Want a fun, easy and worthwhile
community service project? This is it! Join your friends and help
carry the light of hope.
The Jasper Jazz and
their families will be participating in the Plano Light the Night
Walk on Saturday night, October 4, 2003. Participants raise money
to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and carry an
illuminated balloon along a 2-3 mile evening walk. It's a great cause,
a beautiful event and fun for the whole family!
Some of the sponsors include
EZ's Brick Oven Grill, Ivy's Cajun Bistro, Jamba Juice, Chipotle,
Cornerstone Creamery and Coca-Cola. In addition, participants can
enjoy music and entertainment from Radio Disney, KSCS, ESPN and
WBAP radio stations. Activities for children onsite are bounce houses,
balloon artists, clowns and face painting. Aside from these
exciting events, there will also be a mission area which includes information
about the patient services programs, honor garden, a survivor
painting and dedication banner. The
Jasper Jazz has formed a team in honor of one of our own, Jazz
father John Koncewicz, a 4 1/2 year Leukemia patient/survivor. To
register to participate on the team, you must visit the website at www.lightthenight.org
and sign up under the John's Jasper Jazz team. You
earn a free t-shirt by raising $100 in donations. Ask your family
members, friends, neighbors, co-workers and employers for donations.
Many companies have a donations matching program. Here are some other
fundraising incentives you can earn depending on the money you

The walk will take
place at The Shops at Legacy (behind the Marriott Hotel) at 5760
Legacy Drive, Plano, TX 75093. This is near the intersection of
Legacy and the Tollway. The actual event lasts from 5:00pm-9:00pm
but the walk doesn't start until 7:00pm. Watch the Team

*IMPORTANT: Be sure
to register on-line ASAP! at www.lightthenight.org
with our team (John's Jasper Jazz) to make sure you will
receive credit for your fundraising efforts and receive your gift
(if eligible). All minors must have their parents sign your collection
envelope/sponsor sheet, on the back, to participate.
Paperwork and
donations due October 2 and 3! Packets were distributed to the
team on Thursday, September 25 and are due back, with parent's
signature by October 2 or October 3.
